The Children’s Trust is on a mission to end child abuse in Massachusetts.
We give parents the tools and resources to build self-confidence and gain lifelong skills to ensure children grow up safe and healthy.
Tae’voahn first came to the Children’s Trust’s Healthy Families program while pregnant, after being hospitalized due to domestic violence with her sister. She experienced homelessness and depression. “Healthy Families is important because it gives young parents, like myself, the guidance we need.” Through Healthy Families, Tae’voahn sought therapy, became a rock for her baby Aaliyah, and found the support she needed to pursue college and a better life for her family.
Healthy Families is a home-based family support and coaching program that supports young, first-time parents and helps them create stable, nurturing environments for their children.
The program matches parents with trained professionals who visit families’ homes to provide support during pregnancy and the child’s first three years of life.
Family Centers are community hubs where parents go to get support navigating the joys and challenges of parenting. They can tap into community resources, learn new parenting skills, get individualized family support during times of stress, meet other families, and participate in activities and programs that support them in their care-giving role.
Our seven Family Centers serve over 12,000 parents, caregivers and children in over 40 communities.
When fathers are actively involved in their children’s lives, the whole family thrives.
Our Fatherhood Initiative works to advance activities and trainings that support fathers, their families, and the professionals who work with them.
From educating and empowering children and parents, to informing and engaging the legislature, community leaders, and all youth-serving organizations, the Children’s Trust works to protect children from sexual abuse through three main initiatives: Massachusetts Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Task Force, Creating Safe School Environments, and Keeping Kids Safe trainings.
The SAFE (Stop Abuse For Every) Child Communities initiative is a bold enterprise which will mobilize communities, parents, and service providers. The cutting-edge, evidence-based model connects families to community resources and raises public awareness in order to create and maintain safe and healthy environments for children.
Parenting Education and Support Programs help parents with young children enhance the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to be the best parents they can be. Group-based series are led by trained professionals and provide opportunities for parents to learn new skills, connect with peers, and receive information and resources.
