The Boston Eruv, serving the community since 1993, exists to provide a weekly Eruv service to members of the Jewish community.
The Greater Boston Eruv provides the Jewish community living within its borders with a transformative Sabbath experience. Whether it's families with young children gathering together for Friday evening or Sabbath day meals or visiting each other at each other's homes or at the park, or praying together in synagogue, the Eruv enables the movement and carrying of strollers and carriages and of house keys and food.
For the Eruv to be available each weekend of the year, every elements of its 26 miles of perimeter is carefully checked each week and all necessary repairs are made prior to the Sabbath. As a non-profit organization, we rely on the support of the community to provide this service.
