The Childhood League Center

Established

We change the trajectory of a child’s life through innovative early childhood education, transdisciplinary teams and family-centered partnerships.

Every child we serve, both in home and in classroom, has an entire team of dedicated professionals who partner with that child’s family, drawing on the expertise of each person. Families are the most critical part of our team so we partner together to help their child fully develop their strengths and abilities.

Our highly skilled teams consist of expert early childhood intervention specialists, social workers, a registered nurse and a chef focused on nutrition. Accomplished, caring therapists work with children both in our classroom and home-based programs, including mental health, speech-language therapists, occupational therapists, and physical therapists.

Our approach is evidence-based and proven best practices for supporting how children best learn. And the key to it all – families!

Early Intervention (birth to age 3)

Children constantly grow and learn, far beyond school hours. In view of an entire lifetime, the window of birth to age five may seem pretty small. Yet, these are the most critical years in a child’s development and growth. Every minute matters and families are critical.

Parenting is one of the most important jobs in the world. For this reason, we consider support for parents as the most important support for children. A child learns and develops best in their natural environment, which simply means the place where that child spends their time. This can be at their house, their grandmother’s home, or at daycare. It is here that children interact with the people who are their first, best, and most lasting teachers.

Each family sets individual goals with respect to their wants, needs, traditions, and culture. The Center offers ideas, suggestions, and support for families as they build skills and knowledge that can be applied universally and used to problem-solve down the road. The effects of our interventions, education, and therapies last a lifetime.

Preschool (age 3-5)

Children ages 3 through 5 attend full-day & half-day inclusive classes at The Center.

With a 4:1 child-to-adult ratio and small classes, our teachers, assistants, and other team members know each child as an individual with his or her own personality, strengths, abilities, likes and dislikes. They know the goals each family has determined for their child, and they actively help them achieve these goals through play and exploration with their classmates. One of our teachers said it best: “The Center is a welcoming, loving place that feels like family.”

We aim to design a community that includes a 50:50 ratio of children both with and without developmental delays. Research has shown that this approach, which embraces inclusion of each person, benefits everyone.
