Raising A Reader MA

Hometown Hero

Our goal is to end the cycle of low literacy by helping families in high-need communities across Massachusetts develop high impact home reading routines that lay the groundwork for a lifetime of learning and success, in school and beyond. Through book access and parent/caregiver education, we empower parents/caregivers to be their child's first teachers.

Guadalupe first discovered RAR-MA when she moved to Chelsea, MA and was looking for ways to support her two young children. After the first workshop, she was hooked. She could not believe the ability she had to dramatically change her children's trajectory just by sharing a book. Guadalupe became a parent ambassador, serving as a volunteer because of how much she loved the program. Now, Guadalupe is a full-time Program Manager serving Greater Boston.
