Social ButterflySolid Support

Blue Star Families strengthens military families by connecting them with their neighbors to create vibrant communities of mutual support.

"BSF is absolutely wonderful in getting us into different communities - whether you're still in the service or even when you're transitioning and when you're a vet - they never forget about you." - Pat, Blue Star Families member & military spouse.

Annual Military Family Lifestyle Survey (aMFLS)

Less than 1% of the American public has served in the military since 9/11. As this number continues to decrease, so does the public's understanding of what it means to serve.

The aMFLS provides unique insight into the experiences and challenges military families face.

Results from the survey drive Blue Star Families programs and are regularly sited by policy makers and leaders across all sectors.

Spouseforce

Military spouses today experience an unemployment rate that is over 8 times the national rate.

Spouseforce connects military spouses to local Blue Star Career Managers, training partners, and employers to help them achieve their career goals.

Since 2017, Spouseforce has place over 550 military spouses in long-term careers. With dual incomes, military families experience greater financial security and are more likely to continue their military service.

Blue Star Museums

In partnership with 2,000+ museums across the country, Blue Star Museums gives military families free admission from Armed Forces Day through Labor Day.

Last year, over 680,000 military families visited Blue Star Museums. With frequent moves, deployments, and training, these free experiences provide military families with the quality time together they need.

Blue Star Parks

Blue Star Parks events connect military families to the great outdoors, helping them build relationships with each other and nature.

Through adventurous outdoor activities like kayaking and hiking, military families find relief from the stress of military life.

Blue Star Books

Every year, we gift over 20,000 books to military kids. Reading not only improves literacy, but also helps kids develop empathy to relate to others and overcome challenges.

Having these skills makes frequent moves and deployments easier for military kids.

Blue Star Caregivers

Caregivers Empowering Caregivers (CEC) events provide support to military family members who are caring for a wounded, ill, or disabled veteran or service member.

Military caregivers make great sacrifices, often setting aside their own careers and self-care. CEC events help caregivers to focus on self-care and establish communities of mutual support.
