Salmonberry Trail Foundation

To build the 82-mile Salmonberry Trail, connecting us to our history, nature, and each other.

I signed up for a guided hike because I’d heard about the Salmonberry Trail for years, but I’d never actually been out on the corridor.

Walking it changed the way I understood the project. Our guide pointed out pieces of the old railroad, talked about the people and communities connected to the corridor, and helped us notice things I probably would have walked right past on my own.

What stayed with me most was realizing how much is already there. The trail is still being built, but the history, the landscape, and the connections between these places already exist. I came away feeling like I’d gotten a glimpse of what the Salmonberry Trail can become, and wanting to come back.
