The Sandwich Project

The Sandwich Project (TSP) serves residents throughout metro Atlanta who are experiencing food insecurity due to a variety of challenges related to food availability, access, and affordability. TSP engages volunteers across metro Atlanta to prepare and distribute fresh sandwiches, fruit, and nutritious snacks for neighbors experiencing food insecurity. Many people within these populations live in food deserts, face language barriers, or are excluded from or do not know how to access traditional food banks, entitlement programs, and other resources.

We mobilize local volunteers, groups, and companies to make quality, nutritious sandwiches that our volunteers transport immediately to a recipient organization around Atlanta that can provide them to food-insecure, homeless, and individuals & families otherwise unable to access fresh, safe food.

Weekly Sandwich-Makers

Each Wednesday, we have over 35 host homes around Atlanta where our volunteers drop off sandwiches they've made with their families and friends so that we can distribute all of them each Thursday morning. You don't have to sign up ahead of time, there are no slots to fill up, just sign up for our newsletter on our website, read and follow our food safety guidelines and drop off on Wednesday at your closest host home which you'll be able to find via our Host Finder tool linked in our newsletter!

Group Sandwich-Making Events

If you are looking for a way to bring your employees, coworkers, club members, etc. to have fun and do some good for your community, this is it! We ask that these groups make more than 200 sandwiches, but we have companies and churches making 500-5000 sandwiches these days, in just an hour or two. Visit our website and submit a group interest form, and our intake team will reach out to you to help plan and facilitate the easiest, most enjoyable service activity your team has ever participated in. We have companies and organizations coming back to us year after, often more than once a year because their employees enjoy it so much. These events take place at your office, your church, wherever you are, and we will send a driver to pick up your finished sandwiches and get them where they need to go. For larger events, 400 sandwiches and up, we send volunteers from our organization to help facilitate your event, and we are introducing a new option where TSP will shop for you for an administrative fee + the cost of the food, we will save you a trip to the grocery store (or a few), and show up at your event with all the sandwich ingredients ready to go.
