Kids Cooking For Life

Kids Cooking for Life empowers Bay Area kids and teens with nutritional knowledge and cooking skills for their lifelong health and well-being.

Kids Cooking for Life was founded in 2009 by a restaurant owner who was dismayed by kids' growing reliance on convenience and fast food options and the corresponding increase in obesity across the country.

Cooking in the classroom (KCL)

Our lessons are hands-on and students quickly learn that cooking is FUN. Students learn to chop, mince, measure, stir, sauté and simmer together to produce a meal that is shared at the end of the class.

We start with a nutrition lesson followed up by a student-led, instructor supported cooking experience. Our kid approved recipes are developed by our recipe team and test kitchen. We want students to eat the rainbow and be introduced to a range of new foods and tastes they may never have tried before. Our aim is for them to deepen their appreciation of food and learn to think of creative ways to combine different ingredients and flavors.

Kids Cooking @ Home (KCH)

We bring our lessons to your students’ kitchens - virtually. Log on at the scheduled time and we’ll guide you step-by-step, in real time, through the creation of a delicious and healthy meal. Family participation is encouraged and they get to enjoy the meal too! Students can source their own ingredients or, ask us about grocery delivery options.

Together We Cook (TWC)

We love sharing our know-how. Use our nutritionist, dietician, teacher and parent developed curriculum, on-site mentoring and remote guidance to elevate your existing teaching program, plus grocery delivery service.

Volunteering + Events

Volunteer

Much of the help we need is part-time volunteer work. Apart from classroom work, most tasks can be done remotely. Even if you only have a couple of hours a week to spare, you can make a big difference.
