Bermuda Civic Ballet
BM 🇧🇲
"Education has always been a Civic cornerstone. Two dance workshops in 1972, which paired youngsters with internationally respected teachers, affirmed its commitment to training and the tradition has continued each year.
In 1978, Bermuda dancers were invited to participate in the International Festival of Youth Orchestras in Aberdeen and Edinburgh, Scotland.
The collaboration between local and overseas talent serves the original intent of those behind Civic’s creation in 1972. Bermudian dancer Patricia Deane Gray – with the support of Madame Ana Roje, former ballerina and teacher of the original Ballet Russe and prima ballerina assoluta of the Yugoslav National Theatre – led the way for its establishment as a charity committed to the training of young dancers to a standard of excellence recognised both here and abroad."
