To promote and affirm the creative talents and technical skills of women artists in the visual, performing and fine arts. WIA strives to facilitate growth, knowledge and empowerment of women.

TO PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL PANELS AND RAISE AWARENESS ON ISSUES AFFECTING WOMEN IN THE MUSICAL ARTS.

The purpose of Women in Jazz Association is to perpetuate the appreciation and performance of traditional jazz vocal and instrumental music. As vocal jazz is a declining art form, this purpose is charitable - the protection and preservation of a valuable art form called jazz; that is, vocal jazz. It is through concerts, educational workshops, and performance opportunities of singers that provide the means to the end - perpetuate vocal jazz music. Other program services: Youth Jazz Education Series on June 17, 2024 through June 21, 2024 at Huston-Tillotson University. Missouri City, Texas in support of Wings Track Club fundraiser in Octber 2024; Holiday Jazz Concert in Austin at Chez Zee Bistro in December 2024. Joyce Spencer & The Ladies of Jazz with guest Pamela Hart and The Yansa Samada Band on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at Sterling Stage Austin. Collaboration with the City of Austin Thrive Program.
