Gambling Addiction

TO PROVIDE THE PUBLIC WITH INFORMATION, EDUCATION, ADVOCACY AND PREVENTION SERVICES; 24-HOUR HELPLINE; TRAINING; AND OUTPATIENT TREATMENT FOR PROBLEM GAMBLERS AND THEIR FAMILIES. EMPHASIS IS ON WORKING WITH SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES, EXTENSIVE ADVERTISING, INTEGRATING WITH THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM, IMPLEMENTING AWARENESS PROGRAMS FOR SENIOR POPULATIONS, EDUCATING THE BUSINESS COMMUNITY AND DEVELOPING PROGRAMS FOR MULTI-CULTURAL POPULATIONS.

THE COUNCIL'S MISSION IS TO INCREASE PUBLIC AWARENESS OF PROBLEM GAMBLING, TRAIN HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS IN PROBLEMS ASSOCIATED WITH PROBLEM GAMBLING AND DEVELOP EDUCATION, AWARENESS AND PREVENTION PROGRAMS FOR ADOLESCENTS, SENIOR CITIZENS AND OTHER GROUPS IMPACTED BY PROBLEM GAMBLING.

The Minnesota Alliance on Problem Gambling works to raise public awareness about gambling disorder and the stigma often associated with it. We advocate for best practices in the delivery of gambling disorder services, best practices for consumer protection amongst the Minnesota operators. We provide continuing education opportunities for addiction counselors and mental health providers; we subsidize research relating to the prevalence of gambling within Minnesota. We do extensive outreach to diverse groups throughout the state to educate them on the harms of excessive gambling.

To reduce the prevalence and impact of compulsive gambling on idividuals, families and the community. NMCPG provides gambling assistance hotline, training and education, and referral to certified professionals for counseling.

THE ORGANIZATION IS A NOT-FOR-PROFIT CORPORATION FORMED TO PROMOTE RESOURCES, PUBLIC AWARENESS AND EDUCATION ON GAMBLING DISORDERS WHILE MAINTAINING STRICT NEUTRALITY ON THE ISSUE OF LEGALIZED GAMBLING.

PROVIDE INFORMATION, FACILITATED RESEARCH, AND CONDUCTED PROFESSIONAL TRAINING ABOUT PROBLEM AND COMPULSIVE GAMBLING AS WELL AS SUPPORTED PUBLIC EDUCATION AND PROVIDED PREVENTATIVE SERVICES.

FOUNDED IN 1983, THE MASSACHUSETTS COUNCIL ON GAMING AND HEALTH, INC. IS A PRIVATE, NON-PROFIT PUBLIC HEALTH AGENCY DEDICATED TO PROVIDING LEADERSHIP TO REDUCE THE SOCIAL, FINANCIAL, AND EMOTIONAL COSTS OF PROBLEM GAMBLING AND TO PROMOTE A CONTINUUM OF PREVENTION AND INTERVENTION STRATEGIES INCLUDING: INFORMATIONAL AND PUBLIC AWARENESS, COMMUNITY EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL TRAINING, ADVOCACY, AND HELPLINE/REFERRAL SERVICES FOR PROBLEM GAMBLERS, THEIR LOVED ONES AND THE GREATER COMMUNITY.

THE COMPANY IS DEDICATED TO PROVIDING ASSISTANCE THROUGH TREATMENT AND HELPLINE SERVICES TO INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES WHO MAY BE AFFECTED BY PROBLEM GAMBLING, SUBSTANCE ABUSE, OR SUICIDE.

TO BUILD A NETWORK OF SUPPORT FOR THOSE IMPACTED BY GAMBLING THROUGH COLLABORATION, EDUCATION AND RESEARCH.

Increase awareness, advocate treatment and promote research and education on problem gambling

A FELLOWSHIP OF MEN AND WOMEN WHO SHARE THEIR EXPERIENCE,STRENGTH AND HOPE WITH EACH OTHER THAT THEY MAY SOLVE THEIR COMMON PROBLEM AND HELP OTHERS TO RECOVER FROM A GAMBLING PROBLEM.

THIS ORGANIZATION EXISTS TO HELP PEOPLE WITH GAMBLING PROBLEMS GET HELP AND TO TRAIN COUNSELORS TO BECOME CERTIFIED AS PROBLEM GAMBLING COUNSELORS. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO CONDUCTS AWARENESS CAMPAIGNS TO ALERT PROBLEM GAMBLERS THAT THEY CAN BE HELPED.

TO ALLEVIATE GAMBLING-RELATED SOCIAL AND PERSONAL DISTRESS THROUGH THE PROVISION OF RELEVANT SUPPORT, REFERRAL SERVICES, AND EDUCATION TO COMPULSIVE GAMBLERS, THEIR FAMILIES, AND OTHER CONCERNED MONTANANS.
