Chicago Women's AIDS Project (CWAP) provides prevention education, advocacy, and support for women at risk or living with HIV. CWAP empowers women to get the support, information, and services they need to take control of their health and live productive lives.

CWE IS AN ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT ORGANIZATION WHOSE MISSION IS TO HELP WOMEN BUSINESS OWNERS AND ASPIRING FEMALE ENTREPRENEURS LAUNCH AND GROW THEIR BUSINESS BY PROVIDING GREATER ACCESS TO THE RESOURCES, TOOLS, AND SUPPORT THEY NEED. WE ACHIEVE THIS MISSION BY PROVIDING EDUCATION, TRAINING, TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE, ACCESS TO MARKETS, AND PATHS TO FUNDING TO WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS AND EARLY-STAGE BUSINESSES.

First Step's mission is to end homelessness by helping men, women and families develop a reliable source of income. We accomplish the mission with two programs. First Step Staffing provides jobs to individuals who can work. First Step Disability Services fast-tracks individuals with severe disabilities for disability income and health insurance.

OUR FEMALE-LED ORGANIZATION SUPPORTS DIVERSE, LOW-INCOME WOMEN AND GENDER-EXPANSIVE PEOPLE ACROSS THE TWIN CITIES REGION IN ACQUIRING THE SKILLS, CONNECTIONS AND RESOURCES NEEDED TO GAIN LONG-TERM, FAMILY-SUSTAINING EMPLOYMENT. SINCE OUR 2009 FOUNDING, WE HAVE LAUNCHED MORE THAN 12,000 UNEMPLOYED AND UNDEREMPLOYED WOMEN ON A PATH TOWARD SELF-SUFFICIENCY THROUGH INNOVATIVE WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMMING. IN 2023 WE INTRODUCED AN EXCITING NEW HYBRID PROGRAMMING MODEL. THE MAJORITY OF DFSTC EMPLOYMENT READINESS TRAINING IS DELIVERED THROUGH SYNCHRONOUS AND ASYNCHRONOUS ONLINE COURSES THAT PROVIDE MAXIMUM FLEXIBILITY TO WOMEN. THESE ARE SUPPLEMENTED THROUGH A VARIETY OF OPPORTUNITIES FOR PARTICIPANTS TO CONNECT VIRTUALLY WITH STAFF, VOLUNTEER CAREER COACHES, AND PEERS.

THE ORGANIZATION'S MISSION IS DEDICATED TO PROVIDING THE MEN AND WOMEN WORKING IN THE SHEET METAL INDUSTRY WITH TRAINING NECESSARY TO AFFORD THE SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE NECESSARY TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS INDUSTRY AT THE HIGHEST PRODUCTIVITY LEVEL.
