Family Kitchen

Family Kitchen

Bend, OR

"Family Kitchen was founded in 1986 by six women from Trinity Episcopal Church who felt the need to reach out to the community after the local mill shut down. They were concerned that, with the lack of local work, there would be a need for free meals. They were right. "Today, Family Kitchen serves three dinners and five lunches each week in Bend and one dinner weekly in Sisters. In January 2024 we began providing meals six days a week in Redmond through partner agencies. We provide meals to the Bend Shelter, Sisters Cold Weather Shelter, Central Oregon Veteran’s Outreach efforts, Stepping Stone Shelter, Redmond Collective Action outreach, and other programs who deliver to those who can’t make the trip to town." - https://www.familykitchen.org/our-story
