Women's & Girl's Emergency Centre

Women's & Girl's Emergency Centre

Redfern, AU 🇦🇺

"Women’s and Girls’ Emergency Centre (WAGEC) is a feminist, grassroots organisation that supports women and families in crisis and advocates for social change in the community. We are based in Redfern, Sydney and work on the lands of the Gadigal and Wangal people of the Eora Nation. Every night, we support 200 women and children impacted by homelessness, domestic violence and systemic disadvantage. We do this by providing material aid, case management, biopsychosocial support, accommodation, and crisis responses. Equally we seek to address the underlying causes of gender-based violence through primary prevention activities with communities and private and public entities that want to be a part of the global movement to end gender based violence in a generation." https://www.wagec.org.au/about/

National Foundation for Australian Women

National Foundation for Australian Women

Canberra, AU 🇦🇺

"National Foundation for Australian Women is an independent feminist organisation that carries a voice outside of party politics and an ability to function on a broad national basis. It forms partnerships with other women’s organisations to connect and amplify important messages around societal issues affecting women in Australia. It is a dynamic multicultural voice for all women, crossing social and societal boundaries with respect for elders past and present." https://nfaw.org/about-nfaw/#mission

The Warrior Woman Foundation Ltd

The Warrior Woman Foundation Ltd

Forestville, AU 🇦🇺

"The Warrior Woman Foundation provides holistic evidence-based support programs for under-represented vulnerable young Australian women aged 17-25 years who lack the necessary familial or community support to become resilient and independent. We have a particular focus on young women leaving the out-of-home care system on their 18th birthdays (when all support ceases). Our flagship program, the 6-month Young Warrior Woman Program combines life-skills education, mental health support and connection to a safe and nurturing group of female mentors. The program has a strong focus on financial literacy and job readiness, as well as trauma healing, self-awareness, and personal growth. The program bridges the gap between leaving care and a successful transition to adulthood. To ensure that these young women do not fall through the cracks we provide a strong safety net of support which includes peer support, group mentoring and weekly one-to-one mentoring. Based on the Self Determination Theory, the Young Warrior Woman Program is designed to foster independence and overall well-being." https://www.facebook.com/warriorwomanfoundation/about_details
