Community Foundations

The Women’s Foundation of Boston is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that creates, funds, and accelerates programs that equip Boston women and girls to be financially independent, successful, and valued leaders in their communities. We aspire to be the central vehicle for investing in women and girls in the Greater Boston area, and to build a thriving network of female leaders in the nonprofit and business communities.

Women's Foundation of Minnesota is a statewide community foundation investing in innovation to drive gender and racial equity. WFMN maintains the diversity of multiracial and cultural perspectives in the service of its mission, governance, operations and processes.

SERVICE & VOLUNTEER ORGANIZATION

TO DRIVE PARTICIPATION AMONG WOMEN IN LOCAL PHILANTHROPY, RAISE AWARENESS OF THE UNMET NEEDS OF NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS IN THE SONOMA VALLEY, INSPIRE DONORS TO BECOME MORE INVOLVED WITH LOCAL CHARITIES, AND MAKE A SUBSTANTIAL IMPACT ON THE LONG-TERM SUSTAINABILITY OF OUR NONPROFITS, ALL TOWARDS BUILDING A JUST AND THRIVING SONOMA VALLEY.

THE FOUNDATION'S MISSION IS TO ENCOURAGE WOMEN'S INVOLVEMENT IN PHILANTHROPY AND IMPROVE LOCAL COMMUNITIES. ANNUALLY, THE FOUNDATION COLLECT FUNDS AND DONATES TO NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS THAT SUPPORT EDUCATION, FAMILY AND HEALTH AND WELLNESS.

THE WOMEN'S FUND OF SANTA BARBARA IS A VOLUNTEER-LED COLLECTIVE DONOR ORGANIZATION THAT ENABLES WOMEN TO COMBINE OUR CHARITABLE DOLLARS INTO SIGNIFICANT GRANTS ADDRESSING THE CRITICAL NEEDS OF WOMEN, CHILDREN, AND FAMILIES IN SOUTH SANTA BARBARA COUNTY. THE WOMEN'S FUND EDUCATES AND INSPIRES WOMEN TO ENGAGE IN MAKING LASTING CHANGE IN OUR COMMUNITY.WE MAKE LARGE GRANTS TO NONPROFIT AGENCIES BASED ON OUR OWN THOROUGH RESEARCH. WE EDUCATE AND INSPIRE OUR MEMBERS TO BECOME MORE ENGAGED IN THE COMMUNITY.THE WOMEN'S FUND CELEBRATED ITS 20TH ANNIVERSARY YEAR IN 2024. SINCE INCEPTION, THE WOMEN'S FUND HAS GROWN TO MORE THAN 1,400 MEMBERS, DISTRIBUTING GRANTS OF MORE THAN $11.6 MILLION.THE MISSION OF THE WOMEN'S FUND REMAINS THE SAME: TO ENABLE WOMEN TO COMBINE THEIR CHARITABLE DOLLARS, PROVIDING SIGNIFICANT GRANTS FOCUSED ON THE NEEDS OF WOMEN, CHILDREN, AND FAMILIES IN SOUTH SANTA BARBARA COUNTY.

LOCAL 140, COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP ASSISTANCE TO CHILDREN OF MEMBERS OF THE ASSOCIATION, FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO MEMBERS OF THE ASSOCIATION WHOSE HOMES ARE DAMAGED BY NATURAL DISASTER OR WHO ARE OFF PAYROLL DUE TO LONG-TERM INJURY OR ILLNESS, AND ANY CHARITABLE MEASURE TO ANY PERSON OR ORGANIZATION THAT IS DEEMED NEEDED AND NECESSARY.

EFCF SUPPORTS SYSTEMATIC CHANGE THAT POSITIVELY IMPACTS WOMEN AND GIRLS LOCALLY AND AROUND THE GLOBE. BY DEVELOPING UNIQUE PROGRAMS AND PARTNERING WITH EXISTING ORGANIZATIONS, EFCF ENCOURAGES SELF-EMPOWERMENT, CONNECTION WITH OTHERS AND ACTIVISM IN COMMUNITIES.

THE PETIT FAMILY FOUNDATION HONORS THE MEMORIES OF JENNIFER HAWKE-PETIT, HAYLEY ELIZABETH PETIT, AND MICHAELA ROSE PETIT BY CONTINUING THE KINDNESS, IDEALISM AND ACTIVISM THAT DEFINED THEIR LIVES. THE FOUNDATION'S FUNDS ARE GIVEN TO FOSTER THE EDUCATION OF YOUNG PEOPLE, ESPECIALLY WOMEN IN THE SCIENCES; TO IMPROVE THE LIVES OF THOSE AFFECTED BY CHRONIC ILLNESS; AND TO SUPPORT EFFORTS TO PROTECT AND HELP THOSE AFFECTED BY VIOLENCE.
