Our mission is to build stronger, healthier communities by providing safe, affordable, and sustainable housing while delivering comprehensive programs that empower children, families, and individuals to thrive. We are committed to preventing homelessness, revitalizing neighborhoods, and equipping those we serve with the life skills, financial literacy, and supportive services needed for lasting stability and success.
A LIFE BRAND NEW, Inc. was founded by Tameka Monroe, a native of Crowley, Louisiana, with a clear mission: to strengthen families, protect children, and create pathways to stability for those facing crisis.
We began by providing life skills training, financial literacy, and parenting support to families in need. Over time, the organization expanded its programs to address the growing challenges facing youth transitioning out of foster care and families at risk of homelessness. Today, ALBN delivers services designed to meet people where they are—while equipping them with the tools to move forward with dignity and confidence.
To strengthen families within our community by equipping parents with the essential skills needed to navigate daily life and create a stable, nurturing environment for their children. Training and workshops to strengthen parenting skills, career readiness, and budgeting. The effectiveness of Raising A Well-Balanced Family is evident in its outcomes. To date, the program has serviced nearly 1400 participants. As a result of applying the principles taught, 408 children were successfully reunified with their parents.
In 2013, the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Facility recognized the program's value and inquired about implementing it for inmates preparing to reenter the community—underscoring its relevance across diverse populations
HOME Program (Housing Opportunity & Meaningful Empowerment) —a transformative initiative developed to address the critical need for permanent supportive housing for individuals and families experiencing homelessness, including those with disabled household members. In collaboration with private funding and federal programs, we will develop, acquire, and rehabilitate affordable housing units. Our goal is to launch this program in Calcasieu and Acadia Parish—areas identified as having a critical need for sustainable living solutions for low-income families.
Our purpose is to equip youth in the foster care system, as well as misplaced youth recognized as homeless under federal standards, with the confidence, skills, and resources necessary to create positive futures. Through structured in-home care, academic support, counseling, life skills development, and financial literacy programs, we prepare each participant for a seamless and successful transition into adulthood. We are currently seeking funding for this program.
