Saint Joseph Parenting Center

Saint Joseph Parenting Center is a nonsectarian 501 c-3 registered charity. Our mission is to strengthen families at risk of child abuse and neglect by providing parenting education and support. Our vision is that children live in a world free of abuse and neglect and SJPC is dedicated to educating the parent to protect the child.

At SJPC, I have found support and guidance to become a better father and a better person. Completing these classes have been a great achievement; I have learned new parenting techniques, and have learned from other clients as well.

SJPC supports over 477 children each year and has served over 1700 families since inception in 2009. SJPC expansion into more cities is planned to meet shifting preference for family-community partnership programs to support families at risk of child abuse over traditional reliance on foster care.

Programs

Womens Support Group

In 2018, SJPC launched the Women's Support Program which consists of 12 sessions offered in English and Spanish and complimentary to all mothers in the General Parenting Program. Topics include self love, stereotypes, the role of women and healthy relationships and classes facilitate emotional support, shared experience and validation.

Dads Are The Difference

Our DADS Program is a 12 week evidence based curriculum for fathers that addresses the issue of fatherlessness in society. The goal is to educate fathers that every child needs a father figure in their life. Children raised without a father in their life can struggle in many ways: emotionally, behaviorally, socially, educationally and physically and SJPC believes when you educate the parent, you protect the child.

General Parenting Program

SJPC's General Parenting Program is a 28 week parenting education curriculum offered in English and Spanish. Our General Parenting Program takes a holistic approach to parent education with 50% of classes covering traditional parenting topics like behavior, discipline, health , nutrition and creative play and 50% on life topics including anger management, fiscal and time management, substance abuse and domestic violence.
