Wedontwaste Inc falls under the Food Programs category: Organizations that provide access to free or low-cost food products to children, seniors, or indigents by distributing groceries, providing meals, providing facilities for storing food or making available land on which people can grow their own produce.
We Don't Waste was founded in 2009 to help feed the thousands of people in the community experiencing food insecurity, and to reduce the amount of food waste entering area landfills. Over the past 13 years, We Don't Waste has grown to become the largest independent food recovery-focused organization in Colorado and a significant force in the state's efforts to increase food security. The organization moved into its first Food Recovery and Distribution Center in 2017, and in August 2022, purchased a much larger facility to support long-term growth and sustainability. We Don't Waste proactively partners with nonprofit agencies that provide wraparound services to the community, and our food allows them to not only feed their clients, but also divert funds budgeted for purchasing food to other critical services. We Don't Waste also provides nutritious food to a variety of Pre-K/daycare and K-12 schools.
