Edible Schoolyard NYC

Edible Schoolyard NYC’s (ESYNYC) mission is to support edible education for every child in New York City. ESYNYC partners with NYC public schools to cultivate healthy students and communities through hands-on cooking and gardening education, transforming children’s relationship with food and promoting healthier school environments. ESYNYC was founded in 2010 to help students in underserved NYC communities disproportionately affected by food system inequities. ESYNYC currently works with 7 schools, serving 2,895 students in Brooklyn, Manhattan, and the Bronx. In addition to serving NYC public school children, ESYNYC teaches other education professionals how to bring edible education to more students through Professional Development workshops.
