826 Boston is a nonprofit youth writing and publishing organization that empowers traditionally underserved students ages 6-18 to find their voices, tell their stories, and gain communication skills to succeed in school and in life. Our services are structured around the understanding that great leaps in learning can happen with one-on-one attention and that strong writing skills are fundamental to future success. With this understanding in mind, we provide after-school tutoring, field trips, creative writing workshops, in-school tutoring, help for English Language Learners, and in-depth publishing projects.

Defy Ventures' mission is to shift mindsets to give people with criminal histories their best shot at a second chance through entrepreneurship, career readiness, and personal development training programs delivered both in prison and in the community. Defy's programs are helping currently and formerly incarcerated people across the country defy the odds by providing pathways to employment, entrepreneurship, and a successful reentry. Defy is a national organization operating in 8 states including California, Washington, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Pennsylvania.

Edible Schoolyard NYC’s (ESYNYC) mission is to support edible education for every child in New York City. ESYNYC was founded in 2010 to help students in underserved NYC communities disproportionately affected by food system inequities. OUR PENCIL 2025 STRATEGIC PLAN IDENTIFIES ACTIVITIES BASED ON URGENT MNPS STUDENT AND EDUCATOR NEEDS, ENSURING WE WILL CONTINUE DEEPENING OUR SUPPORT TO NASHVILLE PUBLIC SCHOOLS. PRESCHOOL PROMISE IS WORKING TO BUILD A STRONG EARLY CHILDHOOD SYSTEM IN MONTGOMERY COUNTY SO THAT ALL FAMILIES CAN PARTICIPATE IN HIGH-QUALITY CHILD CARE, PRESCHOOL, HOME VISITING, AND PARENTING CLASSES.

THE HEAD START PROGRAM PROVIDES CHILDREN WITH A COMPREHENSIVE PROGRAM OF CHILD DEVELOPMENT AND HEALTH AND SOCIAL SERVICES. IT ACCOMPLISHES THIS BY: PROVIDING PARENTS WITH TRAINING IN CHILD DEVELOPMENT, PROVIDING OPPORTUNITIES FOR SKILL BUILDING AND PROVIDING LINKAGES WITH EDUCATION AND SERVICE AGENCIES IN THE COMMUNITY. ADDITIONALLY, THE PROGRAM ASSISTS FAMILIES BY PROVIDING SOCIAL SERVICES EITHER DIRECTLY OR BY REFERRAL.

TO PROVIDE PERSONAL CARE SERVICES TO LOW-INCOME SENIOR CITIZENS.

WE BELIEVE THAT ALL CHILDREN DESERVE GREAT SCHOOLS. WE FIND IT UNACCEPTABLE THAT OVER 82,000 CHILDREN IN CLARK COUNTY ATTEND LOW-PERFORMING PUBLIC SCHOOLS AND ARE COMMITTED TO SOLVING THIS PROBLEM.
