Christmas Tree Santas
The Santas are a national all-volunteer non-profit with a simple mission: we spread hope and joy by giving Christmas trees (and lights and ornaments and tree stands) to families in need. We're just neighbors helping neighbors, building a little community and spreading good cheer in the process.
Donations buy Christmas trees, which our Santas distribute to deserving individuals referred to us by partner social service organizations and veterans groups. We work seasonally in multiple states, organizing large-scale tree giveaways at which our clients can pick out a fresh-cut Christmas tree to brighten their holidays.
The seed for the Christmas Tree Santas was planted in 2010 when founder Alex Gramling gave a tree to a struggling family during the holidays. He was so moved by their joy and gratitude that he decided to help other deserving families meet this seasonal need. With help from enthusiastic friends and supporters, Christmas Tree Santas was launched in 2011.
In the first year, the Santas distributed 300 free Christmas trees at two locations. Since then, we have given away over 19,000 trees nationwide.
