ADI (Ability. Diversity. Inclusion.) is dedicated to caring for the most precious members of our society – those who cannot care for themselves. We empower individuals with severe disabilities to reach their greatest potentials and provide cutting-edge rehabilitative services to those needing care following an accident or health event.
(Top left) Einat has a rare disease called Rett Syndrome where initial development is normal usually until the age of 4-6 before regression begins. Einat is a student at the Special Education School at ADI Negev-Nahalat Eran. She does not speak and can only move her eyes and mouth. With the help of a sophisticated rehabilitative technology eye tracking system, she can communicate using her eyes to greet others, express her wishes, and even compose emails.
(Top right) Lian, born prematurely at 24 weeks with slim chances for survival, was brought to live in the High Dependency Unit at the ADI Negev-Nahalat Eran Rehabilitation Village. To the amazement of all, she has progressed by leaps and bounds. She loves to socialize and can now walk on her own, and although she breathes through a cannula inserted into her neck, she has learned to eat food independently and enjoys doing so. Due to her astounding progress, Lian was recently able to return to living with her family!
(Bottom left) Noa, the daughter of a single mother, was born with developmental disabilities. She has a special soul, and attending ADI’s Special Education School has been a game-changer for her. She participates in a multitude of activities and therapies at ADI and has made amazing progress in walking and in her ability to communicate.
(Bottom right) Rahma, a miracle child, was born into poverty and neglect and given a gloomy medical prognosis of only a few months to live. At only 2 months old, she was removed from her Bedouin parents’ home and brought to ADI Negev’s High Dependency Ward. Against all odds, Rachma has learned to sit, crawl, walk with a walker, and even jump and dance while holding on! She loves playing with friends in ADI’s integrative preschool, has learned to eat by mouth, and communicates with her big dark eyes and captivating smile.
ADI’s comprehensive special education school system is tailored to meet the unique challenges and individual abilities of residents and children with disabilities from surrounding communities between the ages of 3 and 21.
ADI’s pioneering advanced Alternative Communication Program utilizes cutting-edge augmentative communication technologies to find the optimal communication method for each resident.
ADI Negev-Nahalat Eran’s Smart Classroom is equipped with a mobile communication computer, touch screen, and projector that enable the teacher to project the communication board directly onto the wall.
In a truly groundbreaking program, ADI provides a real and equal opportunity for people with disabilities to work and earn proper wages in a normative and supportive social framework. People with physical, emotional, and mild intellectual disabilities cultivate and maintain village grounds as an integral part of ADI’s gardening team. This gives these individuals real work experience and skills that they could later use upon entering the general workforce.
ADI’s Creative Arts Workshops offer challenging and meaningful vocational activities employing creative solutions in accordance with participants’ varying levels of ability and need. Workshops include digital printing on mugs, paper mache products, ceramic plates and decorative items, Havdalah sets, silk table runners and more, all of which are offered for sale through the ADI Ability Boutique.

Animals roam free throughout the Safari Petting Zoo, enabling close contact with visitors. Specially trained staff understands how to adapt interaction with the animals to meet the needs of ADI residents and outpatients and to find appropriate methods to reach defined therapeutic goals.
Equine Therapy creates foundations of empathy, teaching the child to see others’ needs, understand social clues, express emotion, and foster cooperation though feeding, caring for, and playing with the horses.
ADI residents socialize with special therapy dogs and enjoy the emotional benefits of companionship, unconditional acceptance, and love that help them progress and learn to share emotions with other individuals.
ADI 4 U is an information center for the community at large, offering free advice and assistance to parents of children of all ages with special needs and complex medical and developmental situations.
This program’s goals are to offer a shoulder to lean on, provide a supportive social network, assist parents during the primary stages of diagnosing and defining their child’s situation, impart accurate information regarding accessing and utilizing social benefits/rights, and guide parents to the relevant agencies to care for their child.
Finding one’s way through the special needs maze is not a one-time challenge. ADI 4 U is a continual presence, helping parents and families at life’s many crossroads, assisting and advising as children grow older, needs change, and new situations arise.
