Lucky Dog Animal Rescue is a volunteer-powered nonprofit dedicated to rescuing homeless, neglected, and abandoned animals from certain euthanasia and finding them loving forever homes. We educate the community and all pet parents on responsible pet parenting, including the importance of spay/neuter, obedience training, and good nutrition.
I give my resources and heart to Lucky Dog & their life-saving work. I cannot imagine life without my two Lucky Dogs. Seeing animals in their new forever homes, their impact, and knowing that they would not have survived without Lucky Dog keeps me going & giving. Firsthand I’ve seen Lucky Dog efficiently use their funds to continue to grow, save, educate and provide where they are needed the most. - Joan, adopter, foster, donor and volunteer
As a volunteer-powered non-profit organization, Lucky Dog would not exist without the hard work and dedication of our volunteers. The number of dogs and cats we can save depends on the number of people we have helping us. We are always looking for new volunteers!
There are many ways you can volunteer with Lucky Dog. From the early stages of preparing for our animal’s arrival, to meeting them at transport, to helping at adoption events, and then following up after adoption, every step along on our animal’s journey relies on volunteers.
If you are under 18 years old and passionate about rescuing animals and ensuring their well-being, Lucky Dog wants YOUR HELP! Our Youth Program is a wonderful way to earn community service hours and to learn about what rescue really entails.
Lucky Dog Animal Rescue's Youth Program is designed to involve kids and teens in our mission of rescuing homeless and abandoned animals, primarily dogs from rural high-kill shelters where they don't have a good chance of survival.
We are always looking for innovative ways to educate, involve and share our wonderful experiences with the next generation of Lucky Doggers!
Lucky Dog Animal Rescue hosts 2-5 adoption events on Saturdays and Sundays each weekend. These are only possible with our team of volunteers, driving the animals to the events, volunteering for set-up and breakdown of the events, and handling the animals during the events.
Adoption events are key to animals finding their forever homes. Please consider joining our Lucky Dog community of over 1,500 volunteers and help us save lives!
