Big Life was founded in September 2010 by photographer Nick Brandt, conservationist Richard Bonham, and entrepreneur Tom Hill to address the dramatic escalation of poaching in East Africa. Since its inception, Big Life has expanded to employ hundreds of local Maasai rangers – with more than 30 permanent outposts and tentbased field units, 14 patrol vehicles, 2 tracker dogs, and 2 planes for aerial surveillance. As a result, Big Life has dramatically reduced poaching of all wildlife in the Amboseli-Tsavo-Kilimanjaro ecosystem. Our teams have facilitated thousands of arrests, including some of the most ruthless and prolific long-term poachers in the region. Big Life’s success sends a strong message that killing wildlife carries swift and serious punishment. Big Life’s ethos: If conservation supports the people, then people will support conservation.

The West Suburban Humane Society (WSHS) is a private, volunteer-based, animal welfare organization that was founded in 1972 as a lost-and-found referral service and in 2020, opened a brand new Adoption Center that can house up to 25 dogs and 60 cats! WSHS is 100% funded by individuals, our business partners and private grants. The West Suburban Humane Society is dedicated to operating a premier animal shelter for the purpose of finding safe, permanent and compatible homes to adopt domestic dogs and cats. We are committed to educating and encouraging the public to humanely care for dogs and cats. No Kill Statement - The West Suburban Humane Society is a “no-kill” shelter. A “no-kill” shelter is typically defined by a save rate of 90%. West Suburban’s save rate is 98%. We never euthanize for space or time constraints. By “no-kill”, we mean that once we take an animal into our care, we treat that animal no differently than if it was one of our own pets.

Building a bond for life! The NOAH Center is a nonprofit Animal Adoption Center and Spay & Neuter Clinic dedicated to stopping the euthanasia of healthy, adoptable, and treatable homeless cats and dogs through our adoption and low-cost spay/neuter programs.

Tabby's Place is a cage-free, no-kill sanctuary for cats from hopeless situations. Simply stated, Tabby’s Place embraces those cats who “nobody else wants.”

Lucky Dog Animal Rescue is a volunteer-powered nonprofit dedicated to rescuing homeless, neglected, and abandoned animals from certain euthanasia and finding them loving forever homes. We educate the community and all pet parents on responsible pet parenting, including the importance of spay/neuter, obedience training, and good nutrition.

One Tail at a Time's mission is to end pet homelessness by making pet ownership a joyful and accessible experience for all. We accomplish this by rescuing animals from overcrowded shelters, placing them in loving forever homes and providing support and resources to pet owners in need.

Chicago Canine Rescue Foundation is a 501c3, no-kill animal shelter in the City of Chicago. Founded in 2001, we have proudly saved the lives of over 8,000 dogs who would otherwise be homeless, and worse, euthanized. We take into our care dogs from kill shelter facilities who have such a high intake count, they do not have the space nor resources to maintain a no-kill facility. We also partner with and house rescued animals from national animal rescue agencies who serve to bust illegal puppy mills across the country. Additionally, we have a network of affiliate partners in rural areas we support who lack the resources to operate an adoption program and seek our help. Our small but mighty team provides medical treatment, emotional and behavioral support, adoption and foster program services to each animal that comes into our care; in addition to running the long list of day-to-day responsibilities of our shelter such as cleaning, feeding, walking the animals, and so much more.

Second Chance is a nonprofit 501c3 tax exempt organization that began in 1999 in East Brookfield and relies solely on donations from grants to operate. The organization operates an adoption center in East Brookfield, Community Veterinary Hospitals in North Brookfield, Springfield, and Worcester. Second Chance helps over 40,000 pets a year through adoption, spay/neuter, veterinary care, community outreach, educational outreach programs, training, and a pet food pantry.

We provide K9 stab & bulletproof vests, K9 first aid kits, K9 Narcan kits, cooling vests, vehicle heat alarms, and other vital K9 protective equipment to underfunded Law Enforcement, Fire, Search & Rescue, and Military K9 units nationwide who cannot otherwise afford it. An all un-paid volunteer organization. 100% of donations go towards this gear.

We are dedicated to helping abandoned, abused and neglected dogs and cats in the Montgomery County, Texas, area. We assist by providing medical care, supplies and surgeries for animals in need. We provide foster homes to help socialize homeless animals. We place animals into permanent, loving homes. We help with spay/neuter programs for community owned pets. We help fund the transport of animals to other states with high adoption needs​.

FOUR PAWS is the global animal welfare organization for animals under direct human influence, which reveals suffering, rescues animals in need, and protects them.

TO INSPIRE AND NURTURE THE HUMAN-ANIMAL BOND AND BRING PEOPLE AND ANIMALS TOGETHER TO ENRICH EACH OTHER'S LIVES.

Our mission is to provide sanctuary for forgotten, unloved, and un-cared for animals in the form of foster homes. It is our goal that the foster home serves as a temporary placement until a proper forever home is found. We aim to provide education about pet care and an understanding that pets are a lifetime commitment. We promote population control by spaying and neutering our pets as well as requiring resident pets to be sterilized prior to adoption. Our current focus is dogs and cats and occasional small creatures.

Brooklyn Bridge Animal Welfare Coalition is making a difference in the homeless cat population in Brooklyn, New York, by shifting the paradigm of animal rescue. In 2007, we created a cooperative that provided individual animal rescuers with medical, foster and adoptive support such as was otherwise found only in traditional shelters. This grassroots model has made it possible to be more cost-effective and responsive than a traditional shelter by engaging many community volunteers who are both knowledgeable and passionate about feline welfare.

Colony Cats is an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose primary mission is to address cat overpopulation in central Ohio through public awareness and spay/neuter efforts. Since 2002, our organization has facilitated spay/neuter of nearly 26,000 cats and dogs, and placed more than 21,000 pets in homes. We have a cage-free cat adoption center and a network of foster homes for friendly, adoptable cats and kittens (as well as dogs/puppies we encounter while assisting cats) that have been rescued. We are also in partnership with area pet supply stores that help us by showcasing our adoptable cats at offsite locations throughout central Ohio.

It is the mission of Too Sweet For The Street Cat Rescue to provide a safer and healthier living environment for feral, abused, and abandoned street cats in our local community. We believe that all animals have the right to fresh food and water, shelter, and respect. As a small, feline-focused, all-volunteer group, we strive to fulfill this mission for community cats by implementing TNR (trap-neuter-return), practicing feral cat colony caretaking and management, providing community education, offering medical treatment and rehabilitation, and facilitating fostering and adoption for socialized cats. Additionally, we provide safe sanctuary for cats with special needs who cannot survive on the streets. Alongside other local rescue groups, and through collaboration with our caring and compassionate community members, together we can make a larger impact on the health and wellbeing of these extraordinary, innocent, and deserving kitties.
