With a focus on skill development, real-world job experience, and trauma-informed care, Hopeworks propels young adults into long-term living wage careers that put them on the path for healing and financial stability.
After graduating from Mastery Charter School Simon Gratz in June 2024, Nate trained at Hopeworks, earned acceptance into our Medical Assistant Program, and has now been working as a Medical Assistant for the past 12 months - a career he says he truly loves.
Now living independently, Nate shares that this new chapter has brought greater stability and positively impacted his mental and physical well-being, supported by the structure and opportunity Hopeworks provides.
Recently, Nate was honored by his coworkers at Greater Philadelphia Health Action with a 2025 Superhero Award after helping save a patient’s life—an incredible recognition of his professionalism, composure, and commitment to care.
Nate’s story is a powerful reminder of why career pathways matter. When young adults gain real training alongside skills like communication, teamwork, and staying calm under pressure, they don’t just build careers… they make a life-changing impact in the communities they serve.
