The Sanford Health Foundation is a nonprofit organization on a mission to improve the human condition by inspiring human connection and philanthropy to power Sanford Health’s work of health, healing and comfort.

100% of donations remain local and will support compassionate care, expand treatment options, and fuel transformational research to save more lives close to home.


Year after year, an increasing number of men, women and children across North Dakota, western Minnesota and beyond turn to Roger Maris Cancer Center for hope and healing.

As one of the top cancer centers in the country, Roger Maris provides expert, compassionate care for patients of every age at every stage of the cancer journey. The center also participates in clinical trials and cutting-edge research to bring emerging technology and treatment options home to Fargo and the surrounding areas.

Over the past 10 years at Roger Maris, cancer cases have increased by 34%.
Roger Maris helps support more than 30,000 cancer survivors.
Every day, nearly 400 patients receive care at Roger Maris. More than 50% of those patients travel from 50 miles away or more.
Provides for one day of the snack cart for patients at Roger Maris
Funds art supplies for the Artist in Residence Program at Roger Maris
Gives cancer patients one day of nurse navigation services, at no cost

Help recruit and train the oncology workforce of the future by fueling:

New three-year Hematology and Oncology Fellowship

Educational resources and events, including a monthly lecture series

Partnerships with local universities to build tomorrow's workforce

Sanford Hospice House

Give compassion at Sanford Hospice House by supporting priorities like:

We Honor Veterans ceremony and program to honor hospice patients who are veterans

Grief and support programs through spiritual care, Child Life and social services

Meaningful activities like cookie baking, art, music

Patient Treatment and Services

Enhance and expand programs that meet patient needs, such as:

The region’s first bone marrow transplant program, which will also make innovative treatments like CAR T cell therapy and immunotherapy possible

Nurse navigation

Programs and amenities for pediatric oncology patients

Art, music and massage therapy

Survivorship programing, including CLIMB, which helps children cope with a parent's diagnosis

Financial assistance for patients to help cover the costs of 3D mammography screening, as well as treatment-related transportation, meals and lodging
