Disaster Recovery International Foundation Inc.

The DRI Foundation strengthens global resilience by investing in people and empowering communities. We provide targeted scholarships to veterans, and women, enabling them to pursue education and professional certification in business continuity — building a diverse, skilled workforce ready to lead in resilience. At the same time, we partner with grassroots organizations to fund local initiatives that enhance disaster preparedness, risk reduction, and long-term recovery. By supporting those closest to the need and creating inclusive pathways to preparedness careers, we help communities around the world become stronger, safer, and more resilient.

Earning the DRI WBCM scholarship transformed her life. While working at HAVI, raising four kids, and battling stage 3 breast cancer, she graduated college and gained certification. The program built skills to advance HAVI’s third-party risk management, proving that with resilience and support, even the toughest challenges can be overcome.

Veterans Outreach Program

The DRI Foundation created the Veterans’ Outreach Program (VOP) as a way to repay the sacrifices made by military personnel who have given unselfishly of themselves to protect our nation. We concluded that helping veterans with the challenges of transitioning from a military life to a civilian one would ease their anxiety and the uncertainty that many veterans face. We were acutely aware of how lack of employment has created a vast homeless situation for many veterans. Providing education and certification, through our non-profit organization, DRI International, as well as no-cost employment placement help is our approach to improving the lives of veterans.

Women in Business Continuity Management Program

The DRI Foundation’s Women in Business Continuity Management (WBCM) community welcomes all and provides female business continuity, crisis management and disaster recovery professionals with learning and networking opportunities to develop industry skills and knowledge through a strong community of practitioners.

Global Giving

The DRI Foundation has established a fund to support grassroots organizations and fund local initiatives that enhance disaster preparedness, risk reduction, and long-term recovery. 100 percent of the money collected benefits small, local organizations that are integral to their communities.

College Scholarships

The DRI Foundation believes that educating our youth about the importance of disaster preparedness today is key to guaranteeing a more resilient community in the future. Made possible through donations from DRI and DRI Canada, the DRI Foundation Scholarship is the result of our commitment to education. In addition to providing information about academic performance and volunteer activities, scholarship applicants are asked to write an essay on a topic of interest to our profession.

Volunteering + Events

DRI2026 Volunteer Day

This is your DRI Foundation at work—creating meaningful connections in our communities and engaging members of the resilience field in our mission—with special volunteer opportunities in our conference host city.

This year, at DRI2026, we have partnered with Volunteers of America of Florida (VOAF), a human service organization committed to supporting Floridians in need, including unhoused veterans, families experiencing homelessness, individuals with mental health challenges, and vulnerable seniors. By providing housing, behavioral health care, case management, and other essential services, VOAF fosters lasting, positive change in the lives of thousands across the state each year.
