THE NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF BUILDING SCIENCES IS AN INDEPENDENT 501(C)(3) NON-PROFIT, NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATION THAT SUPPORTS ADVANCES IN BUILDING SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY. NIBS WAS ESTABLISHED BY THE U.S. CONGRESS IN THE HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ACT OF 1974, PUBLIC LAW 93-383. CONGRESS RECOGNIZED THE NEED FOR AN ORGANIZATION TO SERVE AS AN INTERFACE BETWEEN GOVERNMENT AND THE PRIVATE SECTOR, ONE THAT SERVES AS A RESOURCE TO THOSE THAT PLAN, DESIGN, PROCURE, CONSTRUCT, USE, OPERATE, MAINTAIN, RENOVATE, AND RETIRE PHYSICAL FACILITIES.

FIRE PREVENTION AND EMERGENCY MEDICAL RESPONSE

PROVIDE 911 TELECOMMUNICATION SERVICES TO LOCAL GOVERNMENT MUNICIPILATIES AND FIRE DISTRICTS. ILLLINOIS STATE LAW REQUIRED THIS ACTION BASED ON ILLINOIS PUBLIC ACT 99-0006. TOTAL POPLULATION SERVED IS 40,500. THE ORGANIZATION IS A 24 HOUR OPERATION THAT RECEIVES THE SERVICE POPULATIONS 911 CALLS AND FACILITATES THE RESPONSE OF THE PROPER EMERGENCY SERVICE.

PROVIDE HUMANITARIAN ASSISTANCE SUCH AS MEDICINES, HEALTHCARE, FOOD, WATER, AND HYGIENE SUPPLIES TO DISPLACED, DISADVANTAGED PERSONS, AND REFUGEES DUE TO DISASTERS AND WARS.

TO RESPOND TO THE NEEDS OF THE PEOPLE IN DISTRESS LIVING IN PATRICK COUNTY, HENRY COUNTY, STOKES COUNTY, AND THE SURROUNDING AREA BY DISTRIBUTING FOOD, BASIC

VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTERS

To provide emergency transportation and medical services to all residents in a 25 mile region.

THE PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE CONFERENCE IS TO IMPROVE HURRICANE PREPARDNESS, RESPONSE, RECOVERY AND MITIGATION IN THE STATE OF FLORIDA, IN ORDER TO SAVE LIVES AND REDUCE PROPERTY DAMAGE. THE SCOPE OF INTEREST INCLUDES ALL ASPECTS OF THE HURRICANE THREAT WITH A PRIMARY EMPHASIS ON MEETING THE NEEDS OF FIRST-LINE RESPONDERS IN EMERGENCY SERVICES, FIRE, AND LAW ENFORCEMENT. TO ACCOMPLISH THIS, THE CONFERENCE WILL ENSURE THE ANNUAL PROGRAM EMPHASISES THE FOLLOWING: LESSONS LEARNED FROM RESPONSE AND RECOVERY FROM HURRICANE STRIKES IN FLORIDA AND, WHEN APPROPRIATE, OTHER COASTAL AREAS OF THE UNITED STATES; STATE OF THE ART PROGRAMS AND STRATEGIES WORTHY OF EMULATION; NEW IDEAS BEING TESTED OR CONSIDERED; AWARENESS OF NEW OR ONGOING FEDERAL AND PRIVATE ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS AVAILABLE TO LOCAL GOVERNMENT; EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT'S ROLE AND OTHER KEY AGENCY ROLES, IN HURRICANE PREPARDNESS, RECOVERY AND MITIGATION.

Provide ambulance service to local community

Fire fighting and rescue services serving the community of Culpeper County, Virginia.

To provide a volunteer fire department to provide protection for Kenova, West Virginia and the surrounding area in Wayne County. Provide fire protection as well as rescue services for the community and mutual aid with other departments.

TO ESTABLISH, ORGANIZE, TRAIN, AND EQUIP A GROUP OF CITIZENS AS VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTER AND EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES PROVIDERS, SOLICIT FUNDS FOR THE PURPOSE OF THE ORGANIZATION, BUILD, OWN, OR RENT BUILDINGS AND EQUIPMENT TO BE USED IN CONNECTION WITH THE PURPOSE OF THE ORGANIZATION AND ESTABLISH RULES AND REGULATIONS GOVERNING THE ORGANIZATION AND ITS MEMBERS.

TO PROVIDE ADMINISTRATIVE OVERSIGHT TO A NUTRITIONAL PROGRAM THAT IS FEDERALLY FUNDED.
