A Future Once Out of Reach

In rural Cambodia, two young girls from different families shared a common dream: to graduate from high school and create a better future for themselves. Yet for both, that dream was slipping away. Their families struggled to afford even the basic costs of education—tuition, uniforms, books, school supplies, transportation, and daily meals. Without help, both girls faced the heartbreaking possibility of leaving school long before graduation.

Everything changed when they became Yours Humanly scholars through our K–12 Scholarship Program.

Their scholarships provided far more than financial support. They gave each girl the opportunity to remain in school year after year, free from the constant uncertainty that poverty would force them to give up their education. With access to the resources they needed and the encouragement to keep going, they gained confidence, developed new skills, and continued pursuing their dreams.

In 2022, both girls proudly graduated from high school—an achievement that once seemed out of reach. Today, they stand ready to pursue new opportunities, equipped with an education that will help shape the rest of their lives.

Their journeys remind us that education has the power to transform lives. When a child is given the opportunity to stay in school, the impact extends beyond the individual, strengthening families, uplifting communities, and creating brighter futures for generations to come.

Because of the generosity of donors, two girls who were at risk of never finishing high school are now graduates with hope, confidence, and the opportunity to build a better future.
