Through referrals from trusted nonprofit partner agencies, we provide safe, reliable, affordable vehicles to people working toward greater stability and independence.
For someone without reliable transportation, a car is more than a way to get from place to place—it can mean getting to work every day, accepting a better job, taking a child to school, attending medical appointments, or pursuing an education. Reliable transportation can be the missing link between struggling and moving forward.
Through the generosity of vehicle donors, volunteers, automotive partners, businesses, and financial supporters, Wheels4Hope has changed thousands of lives. When transportation is the barrier, a reliable car can change everything.

Zaharah is a nursing student with big dreams and a desire to give back to her community. But without reliable transportation, simply getting where she needed to go was a daily challenge. She depended on buses and others for rides, facing long waits, the possibility of being late, and limited independence.
After being referred to Wheels4Hope by the Family Success Center at GenerationEd, Zaharah received an affordable, reliable Kia.
For Zaharah, the car represents much more than transportation. It gives her the independence to pursue her education, volunteer in her community, and keep moving toward her dreams.

Wheels to Work & Independence
Wheels 4 Hope’s Wheels to Work & Independence program transforms donated vehicles into reliable transportation for economically vulnerable individuals and families across North Carolina. Recipients are referred by trusted nonprofit partner agencies and are working toward greater stability and self-sufficiency. Each donated vehicle is inspected and repaired before being placed with an eligible recipient at an affordable cost. Reliable transportation helps people get to work, pursue education, take children to school and childcare, access healthcare, and meet everyday needs. With more than 5,590 lives changed and over 2,500 vehicles repaired, Wheels 4 Hope proves that a car can be much more than transportation—it can be the key to opportunity, stability, and independence.

Not a mechanic? Become a **Car Runner!** Our runners help move donated vehicles between our hubs, partner garages, inspections, repairs, and other locations—an essential part of keeping our mission moving.
