Kellie Dunn noticed a lump on Oso, her beloved Great Pyrenees that tended her sheep and even proudly checked in on her chickens. He was the gentle giant of the household.

After a trip to the veterinarian, Kellie found out Oso had osteosarcoma, the most common bone cancer in dogs. And, then more bad news. The cancer had caused a bone to break. It was too late for treatment. Kellie had to say goodbye to her gentle giant.

“In trying to overcome our grief and find a way to make some good out of the most heartbreaking and tragic experience in our lives, I asked our veterinarian what the best organization is to support cancer research, said Kellie. “We wanted to do something to help make sure no one else has to go through what we did and to help give other families have more time with their pets.”

Her veterinarian recommended donating to Morris Animal Foundation. And so far, Kellie has raised, with the help of family and friends, more than $2,000 for pet cancer research.
