SOCIETY OF INTERVENTIONAL RADIOLOGY FOUNDATION (THE FOUNDATION) IS A SCIENTIFIC FOUNDATION DEDICATED TO FOSTERING RESEARCH IN INTERVENTIONAL RADIOLOGY FOR THE PURPOSES OF ADVANCING SCIENTIFIC KNOWLEDGE, INCREASING THE NUMBER OF SKILLED INVESTIGATORS, AND DEVELOPING INNOVATIVE THERAPIES THAT LEAD TO IMPROVE PATIENT CARE AND QUALITY OF LIFE. SIR FOUNDATION IS COMMITTED TO DEVELOPING AND ENHANCING INNOVATIVE, MINIMALLY INVASIVE, IMAGE-GUIDED THERAPIES FROM INCEPTION TO MATURE CLINICAL APPLICATION AND TO CONDUCTING EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS IN THE SERVICE OF ITS MISSION.

PROVIDING MEDICAL EDUCATION FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH KNOWN CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASE (DISEASES OF THE HEART AND BLOOD VESSELS). THE MEDICAL EDUCATIONAL TOPICS WILL ADDRESS MANY ASPECTS OF HEART DISEASE AND ITS VARIOUS RISK FACTORS (I.E. CORONARY DISEASE, HYPERTENSION, POOR NUTRITION, DIABETES, ELEVATED CHOLESTEROL DISEASE, ETC.). EDUCATIONAL FORMATS WILL BE MULTIFACETED INCLUDING LECTURE SERIES BY LOCAL AND NATIONAL HEALTHCARE SPECIALISTS, PATIENT SUPPORT GROUPS AND SPECIAL "HOW-TO" COURSES (FOOD PREPARATION SHOPPING COURSES, ETC.). EDUCATIONAL SERIES WILL BE HELD ATLEAST QUARTERLY. THE RESEARCH ASPECT OF THE INSTITUTE WILL CONSIST OF EVALUATING THE CLINICAL OUTCOMES OF INDIVIDUALS PARTICIPATING IN THE CLINICAL PROGRAMS. PROSPECTIVE AND RETROSPECTIVE STUDIES WILL BE DESIGNED AS WELL. THE JAM INSTITUTE PROPOSES TO CREATE A STATE-OF-THE-ART RESEARCH AND EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM, BASED WITHIN THE COMMUNITY. THE FOUNDATION SUPPORTS PATIENTS AND CLINICIAN EDUCATIONAL, RESEARCH AND COMMUNITY OUTREACH ACTIVITIES THAT ENHANCE AND IMPROVE THE WELFARE OF PATIENTS AND FAMILIES AFFECTED BY CHOLESTEROL AND TRIGLYCERIDE PROBLEMS.

Provides grants to hospitals and clinics in impoverished third world countries to support ongoing heart, stroke and other degenerative diseases, prevention research projects. Ships medical supplies and equipment to hospitals and clinics in impoverished third world countries. Educate the public about heart, stroke and other degenerative diseases detection and treatments.

Provide general public with broad based educational programs and services which are related to a desire to promote cardio-vascular wellness programs, and by participatiing in clinical trial research promoting the reduction of heart disease.

VCSQI's mission is to transform cardiovascular care to improve patient experience and value.
