Our organization is about meeting the needs of the youth that we serve—providing opportunities and connections that have the potential to transform lives, one person at a time.
One For One is deeply rooted in supporting the holistic development of Chicago’s youth by providing tailored interventions toward employability, job placement, and social emotional growth that fosters their awareness and value to break free from the generational cycles of violence and disenfranchisement.
One for One is more than job placement, recruiting, or even another workforce development agency. Unique to our program is our offering of high-touch wrap-around services which include one on one case management, trauma-informed counseling, community engagement, mentorship, and even supportive resources that ensure unrestricted access to opportunities. These things are built into our workforce program, complimenting the curriculum and operations.

Keeping Grounded Internship Program
At One For One Chicago, our mission is to empower Chicago's youth through holistic development, equipping them with the tools and opportunities needed to break free from generational cycles of violence and disenfranchisement. We are committed to providing tailored interventions focused on employability, job placement, and social-emotional growth, nurturing their awareness and value as individuals.We offer paid summer internships in our flagship greenhouse program, along with a range of job placements in and around their communities throughout the year. We provide fair wages to our interns as well as financial literacy training to help ensure their success.
Career Exposure Workshops + Field Trips
Our workshops and field trips are strategically planned with community partners, organizations and businesses, curated around career exposure and with employment outcomes in mind. We visit different places around the Chicagoland area to partners’ businesses, which for some of our interns, introduce opportunities outside of their neighborhoods for the first time. Every event, workshop and interaction is intentional with future job placement in mind.
