The Great American Think-Off is an exhibition of civil disagreement between powerful ideas that connect to your life at the gut level. The Cultural Center, located in the rural farm and manufacturing town of New York Mills, sponsors this annual philosophy contest. Learn more at www.think-off.org.
The Puppet Pageant is an original large-scale street theater play based on stories from the Finnish national epic poem, The Kalevala. This annual community theater program brings people together to learn a wide variety of artistic skills including stilt-walking, Finnish culture and heritage, and make connections.
The Fish House Festival is an annual celebration of art + fishing in Otter Tail County. Held in conjunction with the NYM Summer Celebration and Lund Mania Fishing Tournament, this family-friendly event showcases world-renowned decoy artists and painters, and includes a live auction of the fish houses and other items painted that day.
The Longest Night Fest is our annual winter solstice celebration of local musicians and community connections held annually on the December 21. A true local favorite, this event features an eclectic group of local, beloved artists each year who share their gifts of musical talent with the community while the audience enjoys food, drinks & connections with each other.
