CAMP WILDERNESS SCOUT CAMP

Camp Wilderness is the premier camping and high adventure facility of the Northern Lights Council. Our 2,400-acre outdoor classroom is situated between beautiful Bad Axe and Mantrap Lakes in the heart of the Paul Bunyan State Forest in north central Minnesota. We host numerous year-round programs for Scouting programs and non-Scout groups alike.

Camp Wilderness Scout Camp is host to miles of trails, multiple remote outpost sites, shooting ranges, a 40-foot climbing tower, a high ropes course & zipline, canoes, kayaks, paddleboards, sailboats, and fishing!

Cub Scout Day Camp

Being outdoors and being a kid is what every Cub Scout wants to do! Our Twilight Camp and Day Camp programs are designed to use Scouting methods to teach and excite Cub Scouts of all ages. Parents choose the camp they want to attend, and you can choose how much your and your Scout want to participate!

You can attend just one day of camp, or both! A few camps will even have an overnight option. These camps are for registered Cub Scouts entering grades 1-5 the following school year.

Volunteering + Events

Become an adult volunteer

How can I become an adult volunteer?

Express your interest to the unit leaders—the Cubmaster, Scoutmaster, crew Advisor, chartered organization representative, or members of the unit committee.

While there’s no guarantee that a specific role or position will be available—there is usually some way in which you can contribute, and most units are glad for any offer of help.

Camp Wilderness is home to to 55-75 seasonal employees each summer who provide the Scouting program and positive experiences the thousands of youth and adults who attend our programs. We also are looking for volunteers to help at camp.

Volunteer Commissioners are volunteers that work for a week during the summer time. They help support the program of 3-4 troops each week.

Volunteer Kitchen Staff are volunteers that work for the week their unit is at camp. If you are interested, you must work at least 2 shifts a day. Your camp fees will be waived.
