Milaan Foundation provides young people with the tools and support they need to develop into effective leaders. We focus on fostering opportunity, agency, and overall well-being. Our programs equip youth, especially those belonging to historically marginalized communities, to not only succeed individually but also to drive positive change in their communities.
In India, a girl's future can be decided before she ever has a chance to choose it. Milaan Foundation exists to change that.
Founded in 2007 in India and a recognized U.S. 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2015, Milaan works with adolescent girls in India's most underserved communities, building agency, confidence, and leadership to rewrite what's possible for themselves and those around them.
The Girl Icon Program is a leadership movement by and for adolescent girls in India.
We work in the most marginalized communities to build agency, spark action, and shift gender norms from the inside out.
Through a cycle of identifying, empowering, and activating young leaders, we ensure girls are no longer sidelined but are instead healthy, educated, and safe.
One Girl Icon has the power to change a peer group; together, they create a ripple effect that transforms an entire community.
