Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity of Alamance County brings people together to build houses, communities, and hope.
Mikiell is Habitat Alamance Homeowner #193!! She is NC native with two wonderful boys, Lamarius and Jakari. Mikiell currently works as a pharmacy technician, but would love to open a daycare one day.
Making affordable homeownership possible is at the heart of what we do. After raising three of her own, Sheila is now committed to raising her two grandchildren. A Habitat home for them meant leaving an overcrowded space shared with five other people - and finally having rooms of their own!
The day a future Habitat Homeowner signs the closing documents on their home is one of great excitement and accomplishment. We celebrate closings with Home Dedication ceremonies, and then moms like Stazia start making it their own.
Volunteers are what make our work possible. In fact, 25% of each home is built with volunteer labor! Volunteers work under the supervision of our construction supervisor and alongside other volunteers - including future Habitat Homeowners!
Every time you shop at the ReStore, you are supporting our work. ReStore sales account for another 25% of our funding. And you'll be amazed by what you find there! Doors, windows, tools, fixtures, appliances, furniture, paint, and more! All items in the ReStore are donated - some from private citizens and some from local companies. Items include gently used and never used. Plus, every item we reuse diverts good items from the landfill.
