Most students who attend TBCC need some financial help to attend college. Many students work full-time, support families, and balance multiple responsibilities while trying to achieve their education. With the help of generous donors, the TBCC Foundation funds student scholarships to ensure that education is always accessible. But that’s not all. We also support educational programs at TBCC to help the college have the necessary resources to stay current. The Foundation’s purpose is to engage the entire community and increase philanthropic support for student scholarships and the growth, innovation, and overall financial strength of Tillamook Bay Community College. The Next Swell® is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization formed for the purpose of cultivating future generations of marine conservationists and scientists. Our primary efforts include: Providing financial scholastic scholarships to exceptional student candidates pursuing degrees in the fields of marine biology and/or marine conservation. Providing targeted financial assistance in the form of timely grants to exceptional student candidates to assist with project-related costs that directly enhance marine conservation. Heightening public awareness of the ecological, legal, and philosophical implications of marine conservation efforts within the current political and socio-economic paradigms. According to its statutes, the Jütting Foundation serves to "promote music, science and education". It supports young people with special talents in their training and further education. In view of the origins of the two founders and the experiences of the world wars, the "reconciliation and international understanding between Germany and Poland" are also part of the foundation's tasks. The purpose of the statutes is implemented primarily through the award of scholarships.
